With experience in both field-based geological work and facility operations, Neil Joseph Babb earned a bachelor of science in geology from Wayne State University, where he participated in regional geologic field trips and assisted with post-doctoral glacial research in the metro Detroit area by recording and mapping the ancient glacial features observed and discovered. Neil Joseph Babb also completed a six week geologic field camp program through the University of Missouri that took place at their facilities in southwest Wyoming gaining him additional training in data collection, outdoor navigation, and scientific analysis.
Mr. Babb’s career includes work as a project geologist at Hydro Geo Chem, where he was involved in drilling, landfill construction oversight, Phase I environmental investigations, and managing remediation systems for contaminated soil and groundwater. His experience extends to on-the-job safety practices at both active and dormant mine sites and Superfund sites. This experience was helpful in him composing an award winning nomination letter for the Company's Senior Geologist that earned him the State of Arizona Damage & Safety Ambassador award. Beyond geology, he has served in roles such as snowmaker at Timber Ridge Ski Resort and customer service representative at U-Haul, where he gained skills in equipment operation, vehicle maintenance, and customer support.
Currently, Joseph Neil Babb works as a maintenance technician for Sun Outdoors at Palm Creek in Casa Grande, Arizona, where he resides with his wife at the large 55-plus resort. General duties involve the upkeep of the property's facility buildings and grounds, pool areas, resident event centers and hobby rooms, and the recreational sporting facilities. Outside of work, he enjoys playing fantasy sports, riding his golf cart, reading, tending to his freshwater fish tanks and exploring Arizona’s natural and historical sites with his wife and their dog.
